Concentration in ASAM

The Asian American Studies concentration offers opportunities for students to learn about the experiences, expression, history and contemporary social, political and economic conditions of Americans of Asian and Pacific Islander ancestry. Committed to social justice, the concentration focuses on unique learning experiences that foster interdisciplinary knowledge, critical thinking, community engagement and leadership. Students who complete the degree take with them the critical knowledge and skills to pursue post-graduate work in areas such as education, the arts, health, and community engagement.

ASAM Major or Minor?

The Department of Asian American Studies offers a B.A. in Ethnic Studies with a concentration in Asian American Studies and a minor in Asian American Studies.

We’re thrilled that you’re considering one of these options! To help you with that process, we ask that you please complete the Major/Minor Form with Records and Registration.

If you have any questions about the major/minor requirements, feel free to get in touch with the ASAM Advising Team by emailing [email protected]
